BMM Blog

Anything and everything to do with the site, what I'm up to, what's broken, what's fixed and what's coming up. Exciting, huh?

New season, new films

Posted by ben on June 14, 2009

OK, so I haven't been updating this site much recently. That sucks. But now the new biking season is well underway (for us Northern Hemisphere types) and new films are cropping up all over the place. I'll be adding new movies as I get the soundtrack listings, so keep checking back for the latest MTB movies. The main reason I've not been updating is I've been busy going out and about photographing races here in the UK. Excuse the shameless self-promotion, but take a look at my photography site benlacey.com and let me know what you think!

Moooooore Updates!

Well haven't I been busy? A new truckload of updates have been involved in a collision with the site today, including a slightly tweaked design and exciting new abilities for unregistered users - kinda like Heroes the TV series, but without jailbait cheerleaders and wonky-faced protagonist. The unwashed masses can now add/edit movies, subject to admin approval of course...

Also, I'm thinking of seeing what the rest of the Internet thinks of the site, which is quite frankly a terrifying prospect for me. I always liken it to putting your new baby on a podium in the middle of the high street, with a big sign saying "Critisise me!" hanging round it's chubby neck. Of course, being a baby it's likely to shit itself then puke over you when you get near it - kinda like how a website tends to crap its pants when launched. Or maybe it's just mine that do that?

If you're reading this then I've probably posted about this place on a forum somewhere. If that's the case, please be gentle!

A few updates...

Well, I've been pretty hectic recently, with a new job and place to live - but I've still found some time for my latest project! I've been keeping a careful eye on getting the site in Google's index, and getting the management side of things set up. So far, so good. I'll be experimenting with Google AdSense at some point soon to see if it's any use.

Meanwhile, here's an awesome vid made by a good friend of mine, Drew "A-Rock" Hurst, of his adventures in Whistler this season. It's been a priviledge to share the season with you, dude!

Click here to see the vid on Facebook

It couldn't be an awesome vid without an awesome soundtrack, could it? The tunes are:

Slow Down - Kid Koala
Hard To Be Hip Hop - Classified ft. Maestro Fresh Wes
Escape - Rupert Holmes

BMM is Born!

Well here it is, a brand new site on the big ol' internet, one that does something that a few other sites do but in a slightly different way.

After seeing sites like skimoviemusic and songs from the shred, I wondered why there wasn't one for all the bike movies out there. So, with a little time on my hands I built this place, because I'm a geek like that. And so here it is, still fresh and clean out of its little box.

I've got a few things planned for the site to make it easy for you to update tracklistings if I got something wrong, which is pretty likely given how I can't recognise famous bikers to save my life. So if by the remote chance anyone's reading this, hold tight and soon enough this'll be the only place on the net to find out what that kickin' rad song from that bike movie was...
